MLK Day

"When I speak of love, I am not speaking of some sentimental and weak response, I am not speaking of that force which is just emotional bosh. I’m speaking of that force which all of the great religions have seen as the supreme unifying principle of life. Love is somehow the key that unlocks the door which leads to ultimate reality. This Hindu-Muslim-Christian-Jewish-Buddhist belief about ultimate reality is beautifully summed up in the First Epistle of Saint John: 'Let us love one another; for love is God and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. If we love one another God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.'"

-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

#Awkwarddate

Jimmy Fallon called for awkward date stories for his hashtag game, these were the best I could come up with:

Breakup definition.

Wikipedia says, "A relationship breakup, often referred to simply as a breakup is the termination of an intimate relationship by any means other than death." They forgot to add that either one or both of the parties often would rather be dead then live through it. Being broken up with is to want to utterly give up on life but having to push through anyway and then having people say to you, "It must not have been that bad if you're handling it so well" while you're thinking, "I'm really not handling this very well."

Just One Thing

I read an article about breakups and it said to list all the things you felt like were wrong with the relationship, but the only thing I could think of is you saying you didn't love Disney World. I found all your other flaws endearing.

Use Your Spying for Good

Facebook should have the intelligence to stop showing you ads for engagement rings when you delete your relationship status.

Why Love?

I love love, I love being in love. I don't care what it does to me. --The Format

I'm a lover. You can ask just about anyone who knows me. I find it easy to love people because, in general, people are quite lovable.

I love that love is powerful. I love that it causes uncontrollable emotions. I love that there is no one right answer when dealing with matters of the heart. I love that people continue time and time again to give love advice even though every situation is so unique.

People need love. It has power over us no matter how hard we try to run from it. I've chosen to embrace it for all the glee-inducing highs and devastating lows it's provided me with in my 24 years of life.

I think a large part of the reason we're here is to learn how to love and be loved and I've rarely passed up an opportunity to love.

As a result I have many a story and thought on the matter and I know many other people do too. So this is where I shall share them. Buckle up. Or if you hate love (as is your prerogative to do) you might want to leave before the red hearts blind you.
